What a beautiful narrative Dr. Walker weaves as he shares his incredibly personal and powerful testimony as a praying physician. His journey takes him from South Africa to the UAE and China where he is able to see the clear hand of God in his work and personal life and calmly describes medical diagnoses and treatment with the same matter of factness as witnessed miracles and lives changed. What an awesome true story of what faith and prayer can do! As the author relates so well, you cannot put God in a box conjured up by our minds and anticipate the results of coming before Him to ask for His healing, His intervention. The one who prays does not know the entire situation, and he or she cannot know the past or the future as the Almighty does. All of these things, plus the flawed world we live in, play a role in outcomes.

I have always loved reading about the Lord answering prayers and spiritual blessings in the lives of the faithful. This is filled with just that. I stumbled onto Dr. David Walker’s book and am glad I did. I listened to an audio of it read by him. It was filled with amazing, uplifting, faith filled stories he experienced as an anesthesiologist. And hearing his South African accent was a plus. :)

I loved this book. This amazing Christian man tells of his love for God and God's love for him in such a humble way. I found it very uplifting and finished it with a very positive feeling about everything that happens in our lives, good or bad. LOVED THIS BOOK.
When I saw the title, God in the ICU, I knew that this would be a blessing to me. I was not disappointed. The book has helped me in so many ways. I have been struggling with many different things especially recently. The book was therapeutic.
If you are dealing with difficult problems, I believe that you will see that God is with you during these times and you will realize that God has been with you all the time.

Refreshing
This book was refreshing in its honesty. Dr Walker did not shy away from sharing incidents in which persons were not healed but communicated about God's faithfulness in spite of the outcome. It was a hopeful and very positive book which blessed me, although not all the experiences had happy endings. It was difficult to put down!

I was thoroughly encouraged to seek God in all things and to remember that He forgives for one reason- because we love Him and He loves us. If you never take a step away from your comfort zone you won't be able to help others do the same. It only takes one step and you're on your way. Thank you for this book.

Very encouraging book
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved hearing stories about how Dave had such compassion for and looked forward to praying for others. I love to pray for others also, and it has been an encouragement to me. Dave has reaffirmed to me about being obedient when God is asking me to pray for someone.

I would recommend to all working on a medical environment. We need to recognize that we need to bring all our God given abilities to patients, but the outcomes are in God's hands; he does amazing things.

This book is very worth the read - very inspiring. It starts slow, like many of us do in our Christian walk until we decide we have to find out if God really is there for us. Being a doctor the author finds lots of opportunity to see that prayer works.
