  Haha, the same thing happened to me!
  I was like...'Oh no!'
  Try it again, and make sure you take extra care distinguishing between numbers and letters.
  (What did it for me was I thought a 5 was a S >.> )

  I'm having a similar problem. My serial code worked when I installed the game just fine, but it says the serial number has already been used when I tried to register the game. This is very disappointing that I've been denied my option to register for whatever reason.
  From browsing the forums, it seems like there are a great number of issues with the game. This is to be expected to some degree, but seeing as that the release date was pushed back, you'd think some of these problems would have been ironed out in the extra time.

  I had the same problem at 1st using firefox. I entered the serial and nothing happened, no confirmation, nothing. Then I tried again, said code already used. I almost panicked.
  Tried 2 more times : same. Switched to Internet Explorer, same. Then all feeling down and ****** (uh? s.a.d. is a filtered word??) I clicked on 'my account' and saw 'redeem your simpoints'. I used it, it worked.
  Turns out my game registered fine the 1st time, it's just that the site stupidly doesn't tell us it's been done and that all is fine, leaving us deadly worried.

  And just like that, even though during the registration process it said I couldn't register, I got an email saying 'Thank You for Registering'. Odd and a little aggravating, but the end result is what I had wanted so all is well.

  Same thing happened here. It read Invalid and I did it 5 times, and then I check out my sim page and the game had been registered.

  Yea same thing happened to me.
  registered it, nothing said anything to confirm it. I was freaking out, then i checked my e-mail, i had a new 1 and it was from The Sims 3 site saying Thank You for registering your game, hehe.

  Same as you guys. Try to register through the EA download manager and it tells me my serial is already in use.
  I still managed to get my sim points and extra bits so i assumed all was fine.
  But when i load the sims 3 game launcher, it tells me on the welcome section i'm using a non-final, unauthorised copy!
  Doesn't seem to be of any problem though but it's kinda making me a lil' uneasy...I just hope EA sort it out to put all our minds at rest hahaha...

  done everything like in the forum nothing
  i have mail that only i got new account
  when i registered my game to my laptop PC windows works normal
  now im on Mac my laptop is broken and i cant register my game installed without problems
  i need it mostly to update it for the expansion i tryed 2 thing
  1:i used launcher to update when the update downloaded and started at 88% fails
  2:i downloaded the patch the all in patch and separate patches and the same fails at 88% when updating *** is going on
  BTW my game was pirated on my laptop because it doesnt read DVD /long story/ typed the serial and works like real game but when i installed it from the DVD nothing cant update and stuff whyle on laptop update and stuff work

  I only have a couple of suggestions, and I can't guarantee that they are right, but here goes.
  The serial code might be case sensitive, so if that is true, make sure caps lock is turned off and type the code exactly as it is displayed, with the correct letters capitalized and in lowercase. If it is case sensitive, it will only take the exact code that is displayed and you input.
  Okay, I just had a brainstorm. I noticed somebody above had said they had registered their game once on a previous computer, then tried to register it again on another computer. I do not believe you need to register a game more than once. It would explain why the serial number is already used. Just register it, and then you should be able to install it on other computers. You may want to verify this, but I think it may help you out.

  I used my firefox and the first time didn't work but I relized some how I used an M instead of a W. when I fixed the problem it worked perfectly.

  IM AM SERIOUSLY ANNOYED that the exclusive supernatural content code has 'already been redeemed'. Is it that someone in the game store peeked at the code and used it for a normal sims 3 game?or maybe a illegal copy was given out with a randomly generated code. If so i am annoyed whatever had happened.I made sure i typed in the right code. :x

  Its not fair first: My serial code doesn't even work on this webpage and i bought this game!!! secondly everytime i get messages here they dont even show up.And I don't want to buy another sims 3 so it doesn't work again HELP ME !!!!!

  I too have been having this problem. However the collectors edition and limited edition content codes worked perfectly and the items have been added to my game. I've re-entered the expansion pack serial number on numerous occasions, double and triple checking the letters are entered correctly, but to no avail. I keep getting the same message every time... 'The serial code you entered is invalid. Please enter a valid serial code and re-submit.'
  The only conclusion I can come up with is that I registered my copy of TS3 Showtime Collectors Edition on the Origin site first. The site seems to have taken the code and registered it there, but not on the sims 3 site, leaving a gap on the 'My games' badge listing of My Page. The game should be listed along with all the others as being registered, but for some reason it doesn't... it's very annoying as apart from the '70's 80's & 90's stuff' pack (which I've yet to purchase) it's the only pack not listed as being registered to me!
  I doubt anyone can help with this little problem, but it's worth a try! :roll:

  I worked out what the problem is.
  The Sims 3 site must be real old and someone has done a bad job of trying to tie it into the origin side/server.
  Anyway, if you install this game via origin it also rego's the serial to your origin account which means it'll be a used serial code, on the sims site.
  So when the rego page comes up for the The sims 3 account don't enter any serial code just select the name you want gender and go from there and it'll go through.
  Who ever did the tie up did a bad job.

  You can use serial codes any number of times, it should never say that your serial code has already been used. I think if they did that they would run out of possible combinations xd. You can even look up serial codes for expansion packs/the base game on google if for some reason yours doesn't work.

  Actually, the serial codes can only be used once. If you are having a problem and need a new code you will need to contact Origin customer support and explain what you need and why.

  I registered my game on my iMac, but now I want to put it on my Macbook Pro but it doesn't have a disc drive so when I tried to download it, it said the serial number had already been used. Is there anyway I can still use this disc without having to buy another one?

  could someone please help me i brought a twin pack today and accidently used the wrong code for the hidden springs so when i went to install the monte vista game it said my code had been used what can i do because it seems a waste of money to not be able to use it

  I had a simular insident on tuesday when istalling my ep/sp onto my new laptop
  I kept getting this message code dont match game registered
  so in the end i unstalled the base game as that was the colprat and reinstall via origin dl

  Firstly you need to de-authorise your old computer.
  Then download origin to your new computer. Update it so it is fully up to date.
  Then log in and go to your My Page. Your registers games should all be there. You can find your serial codes there too.
  You should see a download button for each game.
  Get your basegame first. Use the cumulative manual patch to update it. Then download and install the other games you want to install.
  You can check a box in the origin menu to keep installer files so you do t have to download the m each time.

  If you bought it as a digital download from Origin they will have already used it to register it in the name of the account that purchased it. Otherwise contact customer support. Try live chat.
